Linkin Park leads the Revolution

As Linkin Park's risk-taking third effort "Minutes to Midnight" picks up steam with fans nationwide (the record is the biggest debut in the States all year), the Los Angeles outfit has decided to beef up its summer schedule by resurrecting the Projekt Revolution Tour for the first time since 2004.

This year's bill, which will stop at the Hyundai Pavillion in Devore on July 28, features emo scene leaders My Chemical Romance  and Taking Back Sunday, Finnish metal unit H.I.M., Placebo and Julien-K on the main stage.

The second stage (called the Revolution Stage) will heat up with performances by Mindless Self Indulgence, Saosin, the Bled, Styles of Beyondand Madina Lake.

Tickets are $24.50-$70 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday.

The location of the Aug. 11 Rock the Bells show at the NOS Events Center in San Bernardino has been changed. The show, featuring Rage Against the Machine  and Wu-Tang Clanin the headlining spots, will now take place at the Hyundai Pavilion. Tickets from the NOS show will be honored.

Mexican-American funnyman George Lopez  is throwing a huge comedy show at Honda Center in Anaheim on Aug. 19. Tickets are $60-$65 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Monday.

Ex-Soundgarden/Audioslave frontman Chris Cornellis headed out to support his second solo offering "Carry On" with a night at the Pacific Amphitheatre in Costa Mesa on Aug. 5. Puddle of Mudd  will open. Tickets, $45, go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday.

If you're in the mood for a bit of a drive, Beastie Boys  will play the Santa Barbara Bowl on Aug. 23. Don't miss your chance to check, check, check, check, check 'em out when tickets go on sale at 11 a.m. Saturday. They are $45.50-$49.50.

Get funky at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles as Hot 92 Jamz's Hot Summer Nights presents '80s Funk Fest. The lineup is stacked with great performers including George Clinton and the P-Funk Allstars, Zapp, Lakeside, Mary Jane Girlsand Force MD's. Tickets are $25-$75.

Also at the Greek: Soulful Brit songbird Joss Stone  will perform, with Ryan Shaw  in the opening slot, on Aug. 27. Tickets are $30-$40. Both shows go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday.

It's time to light up the "Gasolina." Explosive Grammy Award-winning Puerto Rican reggaeton hit-maker Daddy Yankee  will be at the Gibson Amphitheatre at Universal CityWalk touting songs from his latest release, "The Cartel: The Big Boss," on Oct. 6 and 7. Tickets are $74.75-$129.75 and go on sale at 1 p.m. Friday.

R&B singer Keith Sweat, who found success as a solo singer and during his days with LSG, will play the Grove of Anaheim on Sept. 21. Tickets are $50-$60.

The Grove will get "Totally 80's" in an entirely different way than the Greek Theatre on July 20 when Missing Persons, the Romantics, Naked Eyes  and Tommy Tutonehit the venue. Tickets are $30.50-$32.50. Both shows go on sale at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Also at the Grove: Jo Dee Messina, Aug. 10, $30-$50; Pinback, July 28, $20; both on sale at noon Saturday.

Metal Blade Records will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a heavy touring package featuring Cannibal Corpse  and Black Dahlia Murder. The bill will play the House of Blues Anaheim on Sept. 13. Tickets are $22.50. Also: The Rentals, Copeland, Goldenboy, Sept. 18, $18.50; Bowling For Soup, Mêlée, Quietdrive, Army of Freshman, Aug. 20, $15. All shows go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Also at the venue: Suburban Legends, Zolof the Rock & Roll Destroyer, July 29, $11.50, on sale at 10 a.m. Friday Marc Broussard Soul Revue  featuring Shannon McNally, Aug. 19, $18, on sale now.

Cannibal Corpse  will also play the House of Blues Sunset Strip in Hollywood on Sept. 14. Tickets are $22.50 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday.

At the Galaxy Theatre in Santa Ana: The Young Dubliners  with Poxy Boggards, July 27, $17.50; Midnite, Aug. 2, $25; both on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Circa, featuring Alan White and Tony Kaye of Yes, will play the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano on Aug. 23. Tickets are $29.50. Also: Wings Band, July 7, $20. Both shows go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday.

The New Pornographers  will play the Fonda with Lavender Diamond  on Sept. 19 and 20. Tickets, $22, go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Mae  will release its third-full length album, "Singularity," sometime this fall but fans who want to get a sneak peek at the new material can check out the band's set at Chain Reaction in Anaheim on Aug. 28. Tickets are $18 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday.
